Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey (5-0) is looking like the most dominant female fighter to ever come into mixed martial arts (MMA). The "Rowdy" one has five straight submission wins (armbar) inside the first round and recently bent former division titleholder Miesha Tate's arm into a pretzel en route to the gold.
Rousey is now set to face number one contender Sarah Kaufman at the upcoming Strikeforce: 'Rousey vs. Kaufman' event on Aug. 18 at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, California.
The thing about Rousey is that she never wants to be just a judoka player with an armbar. She recently trained for an extended period with the Cesar Gracie camp with the likes of Nick Diaz, Nate Diaz, Cody McKenzie,Gilbert Melendez and Jake Shields.

Kaufman is a striker and well, Rousey just enlisted one of the baddest women in the striking, 'The Dutch Detsroyer' Lucia Rijker. Rijker as you may recall is how UFC president Dana White referenced Rousey as being to women's MMA what Lucia was to women's boxing.
Rijker was 17-0 with14 knockouts in boxing even holding the WIBF women's welterweight title and in kickboxing Rijker was 37-0 with 25 knockouts. Rijker had a hard time securing elite competition and never got the fights she felt she deserved.
How much of an improvement can we expect with a Rousey-Rijker partnership?
